I think it depends on the thread really … I mean if it’s like government economic or military stuff the non-abbreviated names can be even more unwieldy than the acronym … now if it said technical stuff I could see a point being made as writing it out once and then using the acronym after like a SID aka a sound integrator device chip in a commodore 64 thread
