It amazes me that there are sooooooooo many terrible smokers out in the world. Being a smoker myself I am reasonably sure that I am around more and spend more time with smokers that you do. I have, MAYBE, seen one or two dickheaded smokers in 19 years of smoking myself (I’m being generous with this number because I can’t actually remember any off the top of my head).
I wonder why it is that these people seem to gravitate to you guys. Or it could be that you are blowing this whole thing out of proportion. Possibly not, but it is an option that I have to consider.
A murder was committed with a kitchen knife. You own a kitchen knife. We accused you of the murder. But if you’re not the one who did it, there is no need to defend yourself.
Sorry, but whether or not I’m a rude smoker, I get lumped in with rude smokers. It’s the default attitude of rabid (and not so rabid) anti-smokers. I get the blame no matter what. Yes, there is a need to defend myself.
I agree completely! Smokers these days go out of their way (and every other fuckers way) to avoid annoying/killing random strangers. As I said earlier in the thread, I smoke on the footpath (no matter whatever the fucking weather is doing!). One thing I NEVER do is chuck my butt, I will/have/DO put my butt in my pocket if there is no place to dispose of it. I may clog up my lungs but I don’t clog up the enviroment.
Two days ago, I paced up and down the footpath puffing like a draught horse, with a puff left of my cig I left the footpath and wandered toward the jumbo bin (I dispose of my butt there everytime), my bad timing it seems. A co-worker was crossing the carpark on her way to a nearby cafe said “you do know it is illegal to smoke on the premises don’t you?”
I smiled sweetly as I acknowledged her but I wanted to SCREAM…I AM ON THE FUCKING FOOTPATH AND I AM CHUCKING THE BUTT IN THE BIN.
It just doesn’t matter how fucking polite you are as a smoker someone will have a problem.
Honestly I would rather it was illegal and no one could sell me a smoke! I totally stick by the law. The only places I can legally smoke are in my house, my car and the footpath…and if anyone thinks A-holes don’t feel free to cough, give advice or outright admonish me for being a filthy smoker then they don’t live where I do.
