I’m trying to understand who’s being insulted here and I’m coming up with “everybody”.
Eh, in part I think he’s just got the fervor of the convert. Like former smokers that rail against their one-time brethren ;). But really he’s always been heavily involved in political debates on this board, his views have just flipped completely.
Old-timers will remember ITR Champion as dyed-in-the-wool liberal. He was a vociferous critic of George W. Bush and defender of Clinton, a religious skeptic and happy to lambast conservatives and their claims. At a certain point his views began to morph.
So he’s gone from a fervent atheist/agnostic liberal, to a fervent devoutly religious libertarian w/conservative leanings in ~ a decade. It’s probably a bit rarer to flip in the direction he did, but hardly unknown. But I dunno that he’s any better or worse of a poster for it.
Mainly, he just makes sure my scroll-wheel is working.
