I pit Jerome R. Corsi, and his Lying, Stupid Fucking Swiftboat Book.

Golly. This Ayers guy sounds scary. Good thing he’s not running for President.

I know the facts are inconvenient to you, but the facts still remains that they never targeted people, they provided warnings and safeguards to ensure that none would be hurt, and they never did hurt anybody. That means they weren’t “terrorists.” Calling them that trivializes the word and pisses in the faces of all real victims.

As for Ayers not being repentant – I can’t see anything he needs be repentant about. I have no problem with anything he did.

In addition to all of this, members of the Weather Underground were involved in the Brinks robbery in 1981 that killed two police officers and a Brinks security guard.

But no, they never hurt a soul.

There are some inconvenient facts here, but it is you who are studiously ignoring them.

For Pete’s sake Dio, Mr. Moto, you’re arguing about someone who is a *neighbor * of a presidential candiate! Who cares?

Yeah, well…they can’t find a handle to grab Obama and shake him with, so they’re reduced to digging up dirt on his neighbors. SCAAAAARY!

…and once again everyone lets Moto (who must be brighter than he seems, to pull it off again and again) derail a thread into arguments of tangential minutiae.

Here’s a hint, Dio: You could give him proof that one of his infallible heroes was anally raping paraplegic Iraqi kids, and he’d still argue that John Kerry was a pussy who got shrapnel in his ass because he was running away.

Ayers is incredibly thin gruel. It’s actually kind of uplifting that nothing thicker has rolled down the sluice.

The Weathermen did not commit that robbery, the BLA did, a decade after the Weathermen broke up. Some ex-members of the Weathermen were involved but Bill Ayers was not one of them. He had nothing to do with it at all. This is a laughable reach. If someone you once played football steals a car ten years later, does that make you a car thief? Does that mean your football team was out to steal cars? It’s lame enough to try to connect Ayres with that, and it’s right through the looking glass to try to connect Barack Obama to it. Talk about sweaty and desperate. Is that really what your side is reduced to, going through layer after layer of separation to try to paint Obama as a terrorist?

We are apparently all connected by 6.6 degrees of separation, on average.

Therefore, everyone in this thread is a terrorist.

That’s bullshit, and you know that’s bullshit. Terrorists, by definition, engage in illegal acts in order to influence public policy through fear. How is an organized campaign of planting bombs in buildings of groups you don’t like not terrorizing people?

Please stop being an idiot.

To everyone else, I’m sorry, I don’t mean to hijack the thread, but sometimes…

It wasn’t terrorizing people because it carried no threat against people. It was just vandalism. There was no message that anybody had anything to be physically afraid of anything. Who cares it they trashed a few empty rooms in government buldings. I think it was ineffective and silly, but it wasn’t terrorism.

It was a neighbor, Dio! Step away from the keyboard. Let it go. They’re baiting you on a complete irrelevancy.

I know. It’s like a magic trick. It’s amazing anybody still falls for it.

“… And here’s another quarter out of your ear!” - “Ooo, aahh…”

I am not baiting him on a complete irrelevancy. I’m pissed at him because of his deliberate partisanship and willingness to excuse any behavior if it’s perpetrated by somebody who’s on the same side as he is. That’s the same sort of attitude that leads to books like Corsi’s, and it’s dishonest and stupid.

I have no idea what side Bill Ayers is on.

Then open a thread about it. It doesn’t belong here.

“Dirty ears Bill! Look everyone, it’s Dirty Ears Bill!”

-Joe, obscure quoter

Listen, I think people might have me wrong here. It isn’t as if Obama hasn’t condemned Ayers’ past actions - he has - which makes me wonder why someone like Diogenes chooses to defend him. But I digress.

If Obama wants to answer this mess point for point, why try to claim that Ayers is a squeaky clean citizen - that doesn’t square exactly with a condemnation of past actions. Why concentrate on what the mayor and a lot of professors in Chicago say about Ayers - people will start thinking they’re nuts too. Just say you’ve condemned his past actions and move on.

Incidentally, Ayers isn’t just a neighbor of Obama’s - he is a political supporter and they have served together on foundation boards (Especially the Woods Foundation and the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, where they worked closely for a number of years.)

They weren’t just neighbors, and people saying they are are either misinformed or spreading untruths.

After seeing the same shit from you year after year? Unlikely.

So once again, Obama Is Wrong Because He Doesn’t Denounce An Evil Third Party Who Has Nothing To Do With His Campaign.

Once again, you’re trying to avoid the discussion at hand: that the pro-Republican hacks are once again printing libelous garbage to sway the electorate.

You can sometimes be very intelligent, Moto, but you’re still on the side of trying to make shit stick to Obama. It’s not even his own shit.

Stick to the damn topic.
