Who does Hillary Clinton think she is? Jake Tapper of ABC reports a new Pro-Hillary 527 has been set up to try and slander Obama’s Campaign. Are you kidding me? Any respect I had for Hillary is gone. She would rather go extremely negative against the man than cut her losses and back him.
This is the final straw - luckily for Obama her negative campaigning has not worked and she is only going to further disgust potential voters. It’s a pitty really that she feels the need to sleaze and slither her way back into this campaign. I’ve gotten calls this morning from relatives asking me how they can support Obama because they are sick of this negative crap.
Did anyone catch Good Morning America this morning? They let McCain say that Obama was going to Bomb Pakistan without letting the Pakistanis know about it…WTF? They didn’t even question him on that…
The campaign is getting Ugly, I hope Obama can really let this sh*t slide off his shoulders and throw some of his own punches back.
BTW - if you look at the comments in that link - this is a sad nation when people like that are out there… The ignorance is staggering! eek.
a little - as simply her status as human being…I mean the degree to which she is reeking of crap these days frightens me. What frightens me more is the posts to that blog on abc. Holy Cow people are disgustingly ignorant.
Maybe I’m just stupid here, but what’s wrong with a campaign saying why you shouldn’t vote for another candidate? If Obama’s stances on an issue are bad or impractical, what’s so wrong with the Clinton campaign pointing that out? Some people are reacting as if Hillary Clinton killed their puppy or something.
Phlosphr, I don’t see any connection between the linked article and Hillary Clinton. I know the conservative pundits have not shut up about Michelle Obama’s comment(s). It’s the running headline on Fox. You will have to help me make the Hillary Clinton connection.
The terrorists are going to try to hijack planes and ram them into our buildings, so we should do it ourselves!
Obviously your conclusion doesn’t follow from your premise. Sure, McCain is going to try the same attacks. It doesn’t follow that it is useful to for the Democrats to pay to do it themselves, so that McCain doesn’t have to lower himself to the task. Things like this also have more credibility when they come from within the party. McCain can now point to a lot of this and say that Obama’s own party said this about him.
The idea that Obama continues to need to be tested by Hillary’s negative attacks is silly. What exactly will the test show that they already haven’t? You think his campaign is just going to up and collapse the minute McCain calls him unpatriotic–so long as Hillary hasn’t already done so?
You’re attacking a strawman. No one says Hillary shouldn’t attack Obama on, for example, the lack of mandates in his health care plan. So long as she does so truthfully and factually.
The objection is to saying things like, “Obama has no health care plan,” or worse “Obama wants to take away your healthcare,” not to mention “Obama is a plagiarist.” And that’s just the stuff from the last three days.
What’s wrong is that Hillary is supposed to be a Democrat. It is increasingly obvious that Obama is headed toward the nomination. Ohio is usually a swing state in the general election. So by running attack ads in Ohio, Hillary is saving the Republicans money by doing their work for them. She is trying to run up Obama’s negatives on Democrats’ dimes, and doing it in a state that could be pivotal for Democrats in the fall.
It’s a campaign, spoke-. This is campaigning. Regarding inexperience, she is saying nothing about him that McCain won’t say. Last night McCain’s victory speech was about how people shouldn’t be seduced by eloquent but empty promises or trust confused and inexperienced leadership.
Thank you! I didn’t see the responses before I posted. Poor Hillary Clinton. She just can’t catch a break. I don’t think her campaigning is that awful.
It’s a primary campaign. One where the candidates are mostly in agreement on policy issues. Attack ads are damaging to the party. They do the Republicans’ work for them and save the Republicans money.
She is helping him spread the message and saving his (potentially cash-strapped) campaign money.
I don’t have much use for Democrats who go negative on other Democrats.
The attack ads seem to be helping Obama, not hurting the party. What will hurt the party is if something fishy happens with the superdelegates or if the MI/FL issue is handled poorly.
