Stating things like, “Everyone loves themselves. I know this is true because the Bible tells us so!” might not be witnessing, but it is a less than compelling form of argumentation. It’s also somewhat insensitive to post in a thread about parents who don’t love their children, leaving the children (some of whom were posting in that thread) with a deep and abiding sense of self-loathing.

My mother died holding fast to the declaration that she didn’t want or love me, as did my father. They both loved my two younger brothers but they never wanted a girl - especially one who wasn’t remotely like either of them. If it weren’t for DNA and physical resemblence, I’d have believed they found me on the doorstep.

She notes that her parents did not love her. So you’re saying that she’s being insensitive to herself? :dubious:
