My Mom is devout Catholic and often says “piffle”. She is judgmental but not in front of other people, and not with non-Catholics.

My question is, didn’t you know this guy before agreeing to move in together??

We went to high school together and were moving to the same city (Lansing MI) after college graduation. Since new college grads around here don’t make enough to live alone, we decided that this was a better arrangement than living with strangers. He was less of a douche back then.

I’m going to concede the point that this is probably a personal trait of his and not a catholic thing.

And yes, water content of the human body was my point with the wine, but I suppose thorns can have an honorable mention.

Fair enough. Saying he is praying for your soul is certainly related to his religion but actually saying it is an individual choice of his, based on his personality.
