Ha!
Not really, because at the same time she’s going to wikipedia for a synopsis she could hie herself over to Netflix and type “Haven” into the search bar and find out for herself if it’s available for streaming. And in a lot less time it would take to type out the post, hit submit, and wait for a reply.
Seconded; what she really wrote was, “I’m different now. Just saying.” but in a more passive-aggressive way w/ ‘You meanies’ tagged on for good measure.
All the way back on Page One, somebody noted that apparently OpalCat has a nice rack. Being curious I did a Google Images search on OpalCat.
There are a lot of images.
In no time at all - perhaps just 20 seconds - I had found mutliple websites dedicated to OpalCat and her real life name, and her real life vocation.
My personal preference is quite the opposite with regards to making my private life part of the public domain.
Nonetheless, it’s inappropriate, I feel, to hang shit on someone because they have a need to be on the internet way more than I do - but I do believe it opens you up to all sorts of cyber stalking and identity theft.
I’ll definitely be counselling my daughter to follow a philosophy of maximum internet anonymity as she gets older - if only to avoid threads like this.
Perhaps the situation regarding self promotion through the internet can best be summed up by former Australia Prime Minister Paul Keating who, when asked recently if he would ever consider writing an autobiography, answered with the timelessly insightful “no… not at all… if you’re good enough people will write about you and do it for you…”
In closing, this thread reminds me of a similar woman who acted similarly about 8 years ago on another similar messageboard. In particular she annoyed a lot of folks with her need to share the details of how great her marriage was to her Doctor husband.
Apparently, a few years later it became known that the wonderful Doctor husband was having an affair because the wife was spending too much time on the internet.
Bit of a life lesson there I rather think.
I don’t want to waste my time, so could you summarize with a few representative links?
Nah, just kidding. In the words of Rosie O’Donnell: “You think there are men in this country who ain’t seen your bosoms?”
Completely agree, I was just being a big meanie pointing it out for this thread - it did read like she was expecting a gold medal for actually reading wikipedia all by herself!
Actually, the fact that OpalCat did look it up may be progress. My OP was not concerning all the bullshit I’m reading about whether or not she meant to show her boobs, it was about her not reading Wikipedia when it comes up. If she’s doing that now, I win. Small steps, people.
Small steps.
That’s not sarcasm.
One of 12 I hope.
I don’t follow. huh?
I believe Caught@Work is suggesting she has an addiction problem and is hoping she takes the 12 steps programme to solve it.
Hmmm..
That’s a new one. I don’t want to be a part of that discussion. This thing has wandered a little too far beyond what I intended. We are done.
I’m going to ask the mods to lock it.
meh, she’s a worldwide phenom, why folks here and over dere like to get all their knickers all twisted over ewverything she says, says more about the gawkers then the lady.
Keep fucking with em Opal!
I don’t care if she’s a “world wide phenom” or not. Shit, I never even bothered to figure out what she looks like. I just wanted her to re-look at a damn wikipedia link.
This shit has gotten way too far afield, and I no longer want my name associated with it.
So; you’re different now. Just sayin’.
… um, no.
Look at me! I’m a worldwide phenom!
Why would you be associated with anything other than what you actually posted? You’ve made it quite clear you don’t share the opinions of many people posting in this thread. Just because you started it, doesn’t mean you are responsible for where it went.
[Off-topic]It annoys me that people think they personally own a thread just because they’re the OP and have the prerogative to close it at will. That’s bullshit, in my opinion, unless it’s about a personal situation.[/off-topic]
I’m not.
The monkey has a gun, but it’s that kind that shoots out a flag with “BANG” written on it.
