A long time ago, I learned that religion has vary bad “features” and I do know that there are extremists that do want to end organized religion, they are not making a reasonable argument, what is reasonable is to take the advise that I also learned a long time ago: I’m of the mind that religion will remain for a long time with humanity, but the mission for all more secular people is to ensure that religion remains benevolent overall.
So, no, I’m not betting that I or others will convince you. Only that you need to remain in the fight regardless of hyperbole. For others, I do notice that Trump has already killed a lot of mostly Black people in Africa or Hispanics in Latin America, yes, a particular race.
It is not hysterical to point that out, it is also not hysterical to notice that to prevent more of that, to prevent it from becoming a full genocide, we do have to confront the evil that is here now.
Whereas it is a fascist cosplayer genocide or a serious one, one has to fight against the evil doers, not fight about semantics.

I’m opposing Trump and the Republicans now and have been for years. I oppose them because they’re weakening civil rights protection and voting rights. I don’t need genocide as a reason to oppose somebody.

If the real world fight for you is to discourage others from using hyperbole, that has been effective with many on the fences in the real world (Really, this is not the time to prevent the use of a tool that as I pointed out, has a lot of truth on its side). To correct the original poster, given the non-consecutive nature of his terms, trump is actually the worst two presidents.
I doubt this is the case. I’m sure there are some people who have read what I’ve written and considered my points. I like to think I’ve convinced some of them that dialing it back a notch might be a more effective way to oppose Trump and the Republicans.
But I never imagined I would convince everybody. And it should be obvious that the people who will never be convinced are the ones still arguing with me.

That said, the whole history of the treatment of black people in America is a whole other horrorshow. I’m more concerned about the new genocides currently under development.

You are not convincing me. I would have never imagined that this country could crumble into the absolute shit show it is in such a short time. Here we are though. We have concentration camps, people being snatched off the streets by masked “law enforcement.” Thousands of black and brown people have been deliberately dispossed, 100s killed, because they are black or brown; this has all been orchestrated and deliberate. Genocide is almost a nice description of the evil machinations of trump, miller, and this facist, clown gang in the Whitehouse.

I didn’t mention Cambodia because it’s a rather bizarre example of a genocide. Genocides usually occur when one group targets a different group for extermination. But in the late seventies, the Cambodians decided to exterminate the Cambodians.
As for Gaza, I didn’t want to open that topic up here.
It’s almost as if the word genocide has lost its ability to move people due to it being overused. Somebody should start a thread on that problem.
