Armed federal agents in military fatigues busted down their doors overnight, pulling men, women and children from their apartments, some of them naked, residents and witnesses said. Agents approached or entered nearly every apartment in the five-story building, and U.S. citizens were among those detained for hours.

The FBI said on Wednesday it cut ties with the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish group that tracks antisemitism, after conservatives criticized the group for including slain activist Charlie Kirk’s organization in a glossary on extremism.
In a social media post, FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau “won’t partner with political fronts masquerading as watchdogs.”
“…unless they are doing it on Trump’s behalf, of course.”
Thanks for the info (for real), but I am separating the anti-immigrant stormtrooper crimes against humanity (which is very real and huge and awful) from the “gotta save the cities from hellhole crime” stuff, even if some of the anti-immigrant actions have been perpetrated at the same time as the latter actions, in the same cities.
All crime is due to illegal immigrants. Haven’t you heard?

That’s because they originally didn’t masquerade, they were very openly the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith.

In case you misunderstand me, I got no time for either Kash Patel or the ADL - so I don’t view Evil cutting ties with Shitty as “no end to their evil”. I see it as internecine strife to be cheered on. Yay!

I think they have been doing their thing for ages. They are not a front or masquerade. If you hate what they do that’s fine.They are not pretending to be anything other than they are though.

Yes, and Yes. Not saying there aren’t plenty of folks that work for the ADL who are there for the ostensible public mission. But it’s effectively an Israeli government propaganda agency bent on aggressive hassling of all opposition, in reality.

Apparently, totally fucking harmless, just like getting rid of funding for, well, anything good and useful, gutting the federal government, threatening anyone who speaks up against them. Fucking harmless.
I did go to the ADL once, early in my teaching career, when one of my students expressed a sincere belief in the blood libel legend. I was looking for a productive way to address the issue with students. They were utterly useless, and that’s the sort of thing I would have expected them to handle well.
My dudes, this is beyond what I thought possible in 2016, if only due to a slightly higher belief in the average self preservation sense of the average Republican. Have we devolved to the point that we need a /s tag here at the dope?
