Just fold the end under to make a little tab when you cut it, and you won’t have that problem.
But then you have to clip off that folded end so you can use the tape five seconds later.
Even using a tape gun isn’t foolproof. Sometimes, the tape curls and pulls itself out of the gun as if re-rolling itself.
