Yes, pretty much every one of his posts comes off the same way. Either he’s trying to be holier than thou or he’s panicked about getting into MIT by any means imaginable so he can earn big bucks and get instant respect. And while he’s got the “talking” part of conversation down pat, he’s still got a lot of work remaining before he masters the whole “listening” thing.

So, here’s an exercise for your (claimed) MIT sized brain (as your MIT sized ego seems to have shut off your critical reasoning skills):

What was the average (mean or median, it’s not going to make a huge difference) age of marriage for a girl on the Indian subcontinent through the ages? For a boy? For purposes of the exercise, you can exclude from the average any children who did not survive to their 10th birthday. If your answer (for women anyway) is older than 16, you should sterilize yourself to ensure your lack of critical reasoning skills is not transmitted genetically, much less harbor any thoughts of attending any university.

Now repeat the exercise across all cultures and eras excluding the first world from the 20th century on.

How many child marriages STILL occur on the Indian subcontinent to this day?

In how many cultures through history was it considered “normal” NOT to be married and having sex within a few years of a girl’s first period?

How many historical artifacts, Gods, etc represent or embody sexual desire? Exclude Western civilization and you’re not going to change the answer much at all.

The OP is from India, right? It’s interesting how he considers premarital sex to be a Western problem. According to The Times of India:

Premarital sex has been found to be common among young men but a higher percentage of women aged 15-24 years have had sex before reaching the age of 15.

Around 15% of young men and 4% young women interviewed admitted to having pre-marital sex. Shockingly, 24% of the women had premarital sex for the first time before age 15 compared to 9% men.

According to the report prepared by Population Council, Delhi, and International Institute of Population Sciences, Mumbai, youth in rural areas were also more likely than those in urban areas to have initiated a pre-marital romantic relationship at age 15 (29% compared to 17% among young men, and 46% compared to 31% among young women).

You are naive beyond belief if you think that all young people in India are waiting until marriage to do the deed.

It’s like sexual compatibility is mostly what people care about these days and it’s so sad. This probably also explains the utterly pathetic divorce rate in america: around 50% (I don’t know the exact number). Seriously, that’s as good as we can do? Wow! Read up on statistics and specifically this one; it’s based on a misunderstanding of where the figure comes from. The rate is high, but 50% doesn’t describe it, and 1 in 2 relationships failing is patently false.

But what blew my mind was when people thought it was weird that a 16 year old wouldn’t have sex. Seriously, 16? That’s extremely young. I wouldn’t even think about that until my mid-20’s, or more accurately, until marriage! It’s a severe sin in some religions to have sex before marriage (I believe in one of those!) In fact, I value the kissing/making out part for 10% because you do it much more often than just sex. The rest 85% is personality/behavior and looks. And honestly, if they get a “0” on sex and kissing, they would still have an excellent chance of being with me. Like I said, I’m not sexually demanding. And, yes, I do believe college freshmen, in some cases, are mature enough to have sex. Been there, done that. And, whether or not they have sex is generally no one’s business but their own, unless their parents have to foot the bill for the consequences. They are generally 18 years of age or so. Hell, in this scenario, what makes “21” such a perfect age? I’ve known 21 year-olds who were more immature than some 18 year-olds.
