Agreed. There is a bizarre element of Victorian prudishness in Indian culture.

Victorian prudes only ruled over the damn place and wrote all the laws for 300 odd years. And it was Islamic prudes before them. And, no doubt, at least some Hindus would have been prudes before them too (although there’s plenty of evidence that many were kinda the oppposite). It all adds up.

ETA: Oh and while I haven’t been on the board for a while, a quick scan of the thread seems to suggest OP is an Indian living in India. Huh. Deja vu. Maybe I’ve expressed this opinion before…

OP is a 14 year old American-living (presumably born or at least moved at a very young age) boy living somewhere in the tristate (NY/NJ/CT) area who likes Taekwondo and violin and has aspirations to attend MIT (or a similarly prestigious college).
