I Pit School Zone Speed Limits!

In semi-rural/rural areas, you can have roads at 55 between towns with a school somewhere along the way.

There’s just that situation in the area I live in.

You’d’ve prolly liked this story:

:smack:

I don’t get it. Isn’t school zones one of the few things which are genuinely and rationally done “for the children”? For what other reason do they exist?

If I remember correctly, you don’t actually drive.

I was referring to Jettboy’s over-emotional bullshit. School zones are mere common sense.

No, I don’t. What’s your point?

Individual underground child-sized pneumatic tubes leading from each house to the school can whisk the kids back and forth. The government activates the tube only for addresses on the student rolls.

If you want to see danger to school children, just follow a school bus for a while.

unfortunately that’s not how public policy choices are made.

with this stunning display of logic, speed limits should therefore be reduced to 15 mph wherever a solitary child may get run over. namely, every residential street.

My point is that your lack of driving might be why you don’t get the outrage over school zones.

ITT: people who over estimate how reliable children are at not doing stupid things.
