After some thought, I’m closing this Pit thread. While the OP is not complaining about the board, the person he’s pitting is - which means any pushback on the OP is necessarily going to involve justifying the pittee’s opinions about the board moderation. Which mean complaining about the moderation of the board in a Pit thread, which is against the rules. And while I could instruct people not to bring up moderation actions, and start mod noting/warning people who don’t follow that instruction, I would in effect be setting up a situation where a poster is pitted, and nobody is allowed to defend them - including the poster themselves. And the idea of that leaves a pretty bad taste in my mouth.
No warnings or even mod notes to anyone in this thread. Nobody’s been a bad actor here, it’s just that this particular subject isn’t a good fit for the BBQ Pit.
