When they have an eyewitness who places the shooters’ age range within junior high years, why not? You seem to think that they just made a blind assumption and it paid off. Remember, there was a direct eyewitness.

If your God had a hundredth of the power or benevolence ascribed to him, there’d be NO victims. You’re not as bad as the shooter, but you’re damn near as emotionally harmful. Think about THAT, asshole–you’re taking someone else’s tragedy and using it as an excuse to chirrup about “The Lord” instead of extending some actual sympathy and concern.
You should pay more attention to Matthew 6:6 and less to your own egotistical need to prattle endlessly about the person who gave you the instructions in Matthew 6:6.
For that matter, as much as your unthinking bullshit drives people away from the church, maybe you should also take Luke 17:2 to heart.
God lets babies get shot in the face so we can, um, er…appreciate that not all babies get shot in the face! Praise Jaysus!

You seem completely unaware of the scope of the issue in the US. The information you read here just refuses to sink in and be processed. Your Australian buy back took in about 600,000 guns in 1996 and another 50,000 hand guns in 2003.
The last time Congress attempted to estimate how many guns are in the US was in 2009, four years ago, and came up with an estimate of 310 Million guns. NICS background checks, which are only done at the time of sale, are still proceeding at a brisk pace, 2.5 Million just in January of this year. One month. And all of these checks represent probable sales.
All of the guns collected in Australia represent only a couple of weeks of gun sales in the US.
Reducing the number of guns in a given community as a solution? You mean like Chicago has done? That’s some funny stuff.
That’s the kind of nutty I was looking for.
But mental health issues can be addressed by mental health treatment, which we do a piss poor job of in this country.
