I pit the caps lock key

That is all.

(Wow, the Dope auto-edits ALL CAPS into mixed-case. Who knew? I sure didn’t).

YEAH, THAT SUCKS. SOMETIMES YOU WANT TO POST IN ALL CAPS!i

Just pop it off. All it takes is a little pressure, the keys on most keyboards are designed to be popped off.

I lost my Caps Lock key a year ago and haven’t looked back.

And how will people know when you’re L33T?

Compared to the <Insert> key, <Caps Lock> is the epitome of usefullness.

Maybe we could search every 4 minutes instead of 5 if they didn’t worry about (oh no) all caps.

My favorite caps lock story goes (paraphrased):

a: HOW DOES THE CAPS LOCK WORK?
b: Press it once to make every letter caps, press it again to turn it back to normal.
a: THANKS NOW I DON’T HAVE TO HOLD THE SHIFT KEY ALL THE TIME.
b: …

I love it that switching the first letters of CAPS LOCK gives you:

LAPS COCK.

Don’t pop it off, turn it into another CTRL or ALT key. You can do that easily on any OS. Especially useful if you’ve got a laptop-style keyboard where those modifier keys are small and caps-lock is big.

I see your <Insert> key, and throw in <Scroll Lock>. How many people are still working at a command line, and aren’t smart enough to view output a page at a time?

In CAD I use it all the time. And have learned to keep an instance of Word open so, after typing an entire email in caps without noticing, I can switch it back to Sentence Case without retyping.

I used to hxve x problem where I would xccidently hit the CXPS LOCK button when I would type the letter X. I fiaed this problem by interchxnging the buttons for the letter X XND THE LETTER A SO i WOULD NOT DO IT XNYMORE. pROBLEM sOLVED!

UN-altered REPRODUCTION and DISSEMINATION of this IMPORTANT Information is ENCOURAGED, ESPECIALLY to COMPUTER BULLETIN BOARDS.

I hate the caps lock key too. Its stealing the space in my keyboard and I never use it!
I always map it to something innocuous.

Like an apostrophe?

Zing!
