I pit the GDF moron at Amazon who changed the Kindle unlimited book listing

Ever since Amazon began offering Kindle Unlimited, I’ve been a subscriber. I have loved the ability to go to the full listing of titles available and do my search. 4 stars or above, new in last 30 days, mystery. Then I can make my own personal choices on what I want to read not what some pinheaded moron wants to “suggest” to me. I don’t want or need your suggestions! And now that you’ve changed the listing, all I can do is page through the horseshit you force me to wade through. And apparently there’s no way on earth for me to email you with my complaint. Your automated response system successfully avoids any way to actually file a complaint.

The book menu wasn’t broken! Remove your “improvements” please!

It was obviously broken because it allowed you to be much too selective for Amazon’s good.

We can’t have that. It’s your obligation to buy every piece of shit Amazon says you should buy, or suffer for your defiance.

Welcome to enshittification.

Except you’re not buying anything; you can “borrow” a number of books for a flat fee, like a library. They don’t profit by making it harder to find titles. If anything that would just piss people off enough to cancel the service and they’d lose money.

It’s often a safe bet to use profit as an explanation for anything Amazon does, but it doesn’t fit here.

I’m pulling this out of my ass, but I’d guess Amazon is charging the publishing company or author some fee to appear early in the list.

That might be possible.

It’s marketing. Practically by defintion, it’s not about the “customer”. Your eyes are for sale.
