I pit the makers of this toy for special needs children

Dude, as someone with a teensy amount of PR knowledge, I advise you to either fish or cut bait here. Rogerbox has already said the toy cannot be repaired. Either offer to send a replacement toy or stop responding. This board is indexed by Google. You are going to get way more publicity of the kind you don’t want unless you look like you give a damn about your customers

I don’t know about you but I do not read the above sentence and draw the conclusion “they will repair the out of warranty toy”. That you specify the age of the toy specifically precludes the assumption that your company would repair it, else you wouldn’t be telling me about your warranty requirements.

The toy was thrown out, don’t worry about replacing it.

Thank you for your reply Techman50, and your efforts to help rogerbox.

It’s true that people will always find your company at fault; it’s the nature of the beast when you’re the manufacturer.

I agree that the saddest part of this tale is the loss of a disabled child’s enjoyment. If the misunderstanding of your offer could be put aside, and if there is any possible way the toy could simply be replaced as an act of good will, then all that could be achieved will have been.

It seems the only emotion that hasn’t been expressed in this thread is kindness. It was involved in the purchasing of the toy, rogerbox’s attempt to repair it; and kudos to you Techman50 for completing the circle if it ended on that note with a replacement from your company outside it’s warranty obligations.
