I Pit The Tour of Duty DVD Box Set

Having spend some ungodly sum importing the complete set of this fine Vietnam War series to the UK I settle down on the couch and turn up the volume so as to appreciate The Most Appropriate Title Music for a Series Ever (Paint it Black) and what do I find?

Some fucker has been too cheap to pay the Rolling Stonesa few pence from the $50 or so I spent so instead of the blood pumping beat of the the Stones that so perfectly fits the fast action credits I get a slow, sedate remix of the Asian fluty instrumental background music.

WTF? I mean WTF you cheap fucking bastards.

Way to ruin the fucking mood.

Fuck. May any and all persons directly or indirectly connected to this outrage be damned, yea even unto the seventh generation.

Fuckers.

I thought Flutie was Canadian, but then come to find out he’s actually part Lebanese. :dubious:

I didn’t realize he was so musically inclined as well, though.

Tripler
His next album: “Woodwinds of the End Zone.”

At the risk of being whooshed. Fluty as in sounds like it’s performed on the Asian equivalent of a flute. Flute-like even.

Q: Is the OP a flute pan, or a pan flute…?

‘Look, it doesn’t matter what sort of flute it is - the point being it’s not bleedin’ Keith Richards and Mick Jagger.’

Herein ends the Monty Python and the Holy Grail skit.

No Paint it Black? WTF?

The terrorists have won.

Sort of makes you want to pick up an M-4 and empty a few mags into Zammfir.

(of course that could be the point… )

OP is right that was a fine piece for a theme tune for that show, main thing I remember about it in fact. Almost made me want to go out, set up a line of claymores and shoot some commie scum myself. Although I suspect that perhaps wasn’t the intent of the songwriters.

All time best tv show theme tune in my view was the A Team.

In passing got to say wouldn’t have thought 50 dollars was too bad. Some set’s are not far off that for one season.

This is what is keeping WKRP from being put on DVD, the music rights are too expensive. We all thought we would have flying cars by now but no one thought we would have DVDs with entire season of our favorite TV shows in our homes. Since they didn’t think of it the question of the music rights never came up. I’m sure it’s part of the deal now with any TV show but you’re out of luck. Something like Tour of Duty is for a small niche market. That one song probably wouldn’t be that expensive for a big production but the producers don’t want to cut into their profit for a small audience.

And dammit I want my flying car.

Music royalties screwed up the release of Wiseguy’s DVD release also.

And now that I think about it, they haven’t released China Beach on DVD yet. Anyone want to be they’re arguing over the rights to “Reflections”
