I, for one, have not had a single time out or “slow” period for quite some time now. We’re all so hasty to jump on the “let’s bitch about how shitty the server is (or whatever)” bandwagon, so why can’t we show a little love when things are going well? Is that enough of a jinx? Anyway, hope I’m not the only one for whom this board is working well!
I suppose I don’t appreciate my refrigerator enough either. It’s always humming away keeping my drinks cool. Thank you, refrigerator.
I’m paying money for this service. I expect decent service. I don’t thank my power company or my cable company either.
They’d appreciate it if you did, though. At least the people working there.

Thanks for turning my “Charter Member” into “guest.” It survived a long time after the shift, but eventually that too had to fall.

When you finally get the refrigerator fixed after a period of occasional shutoffs, randomly ruining food here and there…yeah, you appreciate a working one. When I got a new AC unit after my 20-year-old one broke down and I went without for two weeks in July, for a month I couldn’t get over how awesome it was to have real, modern-tech AC again.
So yeah, I’m happy that the board is reliable now. Especially in contrast to another board that’s preparing for imminent upgrades…for the past month I’ve had to deal with timeouts more than a third of the time. Far more frustrating than the Dope’s ever been.
Call me crazy but I don’t think it’s cause for celebration when something works the way it’s supposed to. I’m not real appreciative of mediocrity.

I don’t think celebration and appreciation are at all the same thing.
Thanks, Jerry and the rest. I may not always agree with the decision that are made, but I remain confident that everyone’s hearts are in the right place. I may not always think the board runs smoothly, but I know you’re doing the best you can with the resources you are given.
The board could be better. I would have posted sooner but the board’s server deleted my postings - on the rare times that I was even able to log in at all. :mad:
Geez, for “The Pit” this was one of the mildest pittings ever.
So I guessed somebody had to spice it up with the usual invectives, aspersions and the fucking colorful language of the Pit. (Then again, it seems that some other posters have shared my sentiment).

I’ll start being appreciative when the board stops giving me database errors.
I love this place and I’m grateful that it exists. I’ve seldom had trouble logging on although it has been slow on occasion. So have I, for that matter.

But sometimes 2 minutes seems like a lifetime… I just can’t handle it anymore!!!
I still get plenty of timeouts and errors. I specially appreciate it when I get an error while doing a search and I am then informed the Uberfuhrer has established I have to wait 300 seconds before I can get the next error message.
