I pit WiredBadger's use of grammar nazis

OK - my first time using “pit” as a verb.

Wiredbadger (love the name, btw) I am enjoying your thread about science but will you please stop using grammar nazis?

care about grammar, spelling, whatever or not - the word Nazi is for something so bad and so awful that using it when someone is just annoying you really blows hot ash up my skirt.

disagree, ignore, whatever - shut UP with using the word nazi.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

K, now I have to go back and read to see if life has, indeed, been found on Mars. Hope so!

Grammarcommies?

Stop being such a nazi Nazi.

I agree w/you insofar as many/most of his post are almost illegible.

That said, you might want to link to the referenced thread: When did science become an opinion?

Pit your cherry away – good luck.

suppose I should have read the entire thread before pitting but I’m in a very spontaneous mood.

Climate Change Denier! I pit that, too!

tiny plums that are mostly seed: pit pit pit!! (I ate some of those today)

where the hell is spell check?

I totally didn’t see that coming!

Nah, for a change I do think this pit should concentrate on the gross incompetency of his grammar, it is like if capital letters and paragraphs were never invented by mankind in his book.

How he managed to become a scientist is a wonder, I do struggle with grammar constantly as English is my second language; but if a Hispanic immigrant with English as a second language like me knows more grammar than an American poster that declares himself to be a scientist, it makes me fear for the future of the United States.

Of course the ugly fact that he is also trying to teach grandma to suck eggs (for him the experts are wrong and he is a willful ignoramus) adds to my fears of what the future will bring.

peace jackie, if you took the same care to explain to me your deference on my post i most surely would try to reach a compromise. i am not the greatest typer in the world. you just simply have to ask me to explain myself. i am not exactly that shallow or have one way of producing a thought. it would be my pleasure. i am here to have a conversation not write a book. trust me, you seem like my age, we didn’t have these instant correction programs like on word these days. i seriously lost the inspiration for doing any heavy grammar in advanced composition. (she was an evil ice queen..she enjoyed shredding our essays with her vile and insensitive red hack marks..few of us recovered from that year.)

but whatever.. i want to enjoy the spirit of conversation. for you, i will try my best to follow grammar. no guarantees , but i will try. please understand though..she was evil , that lady took an 11 page discussion on if Mayan culture was on the way out before the Spanish appeared , she wasn’t even the right professor. she had volunteered and she hacked all our essays up. a person wears these scars for years you know.

I requested the Ovaltine people to get me a limited edition WiredBadger secret decoder ring.

Maybe it will arrive before he is banned.

Ugh. I feel like people like you do this shit on purpose. "I’m so enlightened and above the constraints of silly little grammar rules; to limit my free-soaring mind in such a way is just getting in the way. I mean, who needs an ‘auto-correct’ program in order to fucking capitalize?? C’mon.

Look, the fact is that grammar is an important element of a language which we would do well to pay attention to. It facilitates and enlightens communication. It is a noble endeavor. Now, it just so happens that some people who carry the torch of grammar also believe that white people are the master race. But those are really a fringe element. Most of us are more like Grammar French Resistance.

Spelling, punctuation and capitalization are not grammar. Grammatical mistakes are noticeable in speech as well as text and if you heard his posts rather than reading them, they’d be, for the most part, fine.

Grammar 2 speech software!? So that’s the much needed decoder ring? Many thanks, but I think I’ll pass & save a few bucks.

Spellcheck is in your brain, baby.

Considering how bad his spelling is, he probably meant Grandma Nazis.

Seeing as you have to write papers and such to be a scientist, I’d question his bona fides. Proper punctuation and spelling should be second nature if you’ve been using them often. I sure don’t stop to think about it.

Good call.

The fact that the pittee can capitalise Mayan and Spanish correctly but not the start of sentences means it’s all quite deliberate.

Obvious Troll is Obvious.

Stop being such a metanazi.
