The thing is, I probably would have taken that survey that popped up on IMdb, inquiring about my favorite movie scripts of all time.

Except the pop-up said, “Compensation for taking this survey is $300.”

Now, I sure wouldn’t mind an extra $300 . . . I just don’t believe it. In fact I so don’t believe it that I got the hell off the site (“Consumerline”) and now am trying to figure out whether I am a worse sucker for almost falling for it or for not going for it.

This is just wild guessing on my part, but I would think that once you filled out the survey, you would get $300… in “valuable coupons” to companies you have never heard of. Or something else that makes the $300 guarantee not an outright lie, but a definite stretch of the truth.
