I quit drinking 15 days ago. Am I over the worst of it?

Hey, I quite for years and picked up again. Huge mistake. But shame, like alcohol, can kill you. Generally because it leads to more alcohol.

It’s a real struggle and you’re far from alone. I can totally see why the resurrection of the thread would be painful–especially when people aren’t reading as closely as they might–but don’t focus on failure. Lots and lots of sober alcoholics have a very long history of trying and failing behind them.

I’m going to be the odd person out here and say that, no, if you’ve had problems being addicted to alcohol or it’s causing other problems, you should just quit altogether. It’s not worth it. That ‘one beer’ every ‘once in a while’ can very well cause you to go right back to where you came from. There are even support groups out there for that sort of thing too.
