I ran 4 miles today!!!

I had been on the Couch to 5K program and was running 30 minutes on a regular basis. But I kept trying to go too fast (like trying to run a 9 or 10 minute mile) and then would get an ankle pain or cramp and it set me back.

But I decided to slow it down and was again running 30 minutes on a regular basis on about an 11 minute mile. I would like to get to a 10 minute mile but I figured that will come with time and if it doesn’t, I can live with 11 minute miles.

Last Saturday morning I ran 35 minutes and felt good. So today I decided to push it and I ran 45 minutes and 4 miles, which is about an 11.25 mile. Not bad for a 50 year old guy if I say so myself

Mundane and Pointless but I was proud of myself nonetheless

Good job! A 10 minute mile is a good goal to set your sights on next.

Wow! Good for you!

I keep telling myself I should try that program to begin running again, yet I still have not done it.
You are inspirational!

Hey! I did that for the first time last night!! I also did the Couch-to-5k late last year, and my typical run has been, well, 5K - 3.1 miles, currently worked up to about a 10:45 mile. I decided I’m going to train for a half marathon by the end of this year, and last night marked my first bit of real progress toward it, I suppose.

Congratulations! Enjoy your victory.
