Thea Logica has been giving us regular reports on her reading of the Left Behind series. So far they sound as if they are pretty dreadful.

But one book I was curious about, since it gets mentioned a lot in stories about militias, domestic terrorism, racism, etc. is The Turner Diaries. So I found it online and read it and UGH!!! How can anyone get into something as awful as that? To say it is poorly written is being kind. So full of racial/ethnic sterotypes and hate that it makes you feel sick. The “hero”, Earl Turner, at one point shoots and kills a fourteen year old girl. If you don’t believe me go and read it for yourself, but I won’t provide the link.

I fail to see how such poorly written trash can have such a hold on people.

Now I’m going to have to at least look at it. Like you, I’ve been curious because it gets so much mention. I looked online once, but just got a lot of white supremacy sh** which was pretty sickening. I never wanted to buy it because I didn’t want one penny of my money going to the author.
