I saw a Bitter!

Not that most people would even care, but driving to Rockford IL on Saturday, I rode behind what looked like a late 70’s all white Bitter Coupe (with vanity plates reading “BITTER”. Rare cars are always a treat, but seeing a Bitter, well, that’s something that you don’t see every day, certainly not crusing down the interstate on a rainy March afternoon. It was in perfect condition too. I would have loved to have followed the guy to his destination to find out how he came to be driving such an odd car, but I had things to do. I’d never actually seen one before, but it’s always a nice treat to see a truly rare ride blazing down the road.

Cool. Did you know right off the bat that it was a Bitter or did you have to see the plate before it hit you?

Am I the only one who saw the title of the thread and thought it was a about a children bitting something?

  1. No, I had to get close enough to decipher the badges on the car to be sure. It’s a unique enough vehicle that I spied it as different right away, but the license plate helped. There’s a highly stylized chrome “bitter” logo on the trunk lid, very thin lettering where the two “T”'s are crossed with the same line.

  2. I had to Google the name to make sure I wasn’t spelling it wrong after entering the thread title.

I worked for a Bitter dealer, and have worked on them. Nice driving cars.

I thought he was posting from a pub.
