Did anyone who watched tonight’s Simpsons notice that the player who broke his leg looked like Mahir (well, the mustache, anyway)? He talked broken English, too. I don’t think it was a deliberate reference, but I got a kick out of it anyway. Also, for Red Green fans, Kent Brockman’s exchange with his nephew was reminiscent of Red and Harold.
Or maybe I should stop already with the pointless obscure references.

I also noticed that the Jamacian guy from Futurama was in front of Homer when he ran down onto the field. I can’t remember his name for the life of me, though. Mahir? Is that the Turkish guy from the weird “I kiss you!!” site?
The Jamaican’s guy’s name is Hermes.
Yep, that’s him: Mahir Cagri. To be fair, his hair is short, and the guy on the Simpsons had longish hair, but the mustache and broken English were right on.

So a moustache and broken english make this guy Mahir? I think no.
We gladly devour those who would subdue us.
