We went to the Calgary HomExpo yesterday, and saw Mike Holmes live!
That guy is seriously passionate about people doing home renovations not getting horribly screwed by unscrupulous and/or incompetent contractors. And not hard to look at, either. It was quite cute when he blushed over being asked to flex for a picture.
Don’t suppose you guys get his show in the U.S. Too bad for you :D!
Lucky! I love that show, though my favorite part is either 1) Watching him complain about the previous contractors or 2) Watching him tear everything apart 
Any chance he’ll be in Halfax sometime soon so I can get a picture?

I didn’t faint, but there was "woohoo"ing aplenty.
I like watching him bitch about the other contractors, too. In his presentation, he mentioned going to court for a family that had been completely screwed by their contractor. He was kind of an expert witness, I suppose. It sounded like he enjoyed himself immensely.
Hmm, he doesn’t appear to be a self-aware supercomputer running a revolution on the Moon. I’m not quite as impressed as the title led me to believe.
