To “fall out” is an expression from probably the 80s. Originally, it was a military term, meaning roughly “to get out of line.” (As opposed to “fall in.”)

I learned it as pretty much short for “fall out laughing.”

Other interesting 80s slang:

“sprung” : to be in love with somebody

“drove” : to be at your wits’ end

“screamin’” : really good
