I sprained my ankle at soccer!

Argh! What a crappy day. To top it all off my doctor gave me no advice on how to treat it (I had to fish it out of the nurse who seem quite disgruntled that she had to tell me) So I’m doing the whole RICE thing now (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) but I’m on crutches right now. I did some research and I think I have a level two sprain, there was a whole lot of swelling going on and it’s not easy to walk on.

Worst of all, I just registered for a half marathon. People who have been following my adventures in running know that during my previous (and first) half marathon I hurt my foot in training. Of course 3 days after I register for this, there goes my ankle.

I will some how stay fit for the next 4-6 weeks while this heals! Maybe theres still a shot to run this thing if I do it right! :mad:

Ouch. I came in here to commiserate as I too sprained my ankle playing soccer, but compared to what you seem to have done mine doesn’t even merit the term ‘sprain’. I caught my foot and rolled over the outside edge, a bit of hyperextension and stretched ligaments, but two days later I’m near to walking normally again and I never did need crutches.
