I Stepped On a Kitten Fetus!!!! A Kitten FETUS!!!

Nice one, Tuckerfan.

Sounds like Squeaker was the one making time.

Glad she’ll be all fixed up. Thanks Muffin and Tuckerfan.

Very good.

Oh yeah, and Muffin (whose name I am always inexplicably tempted to pronounce “Mouphin” in a French accent).

No. Whle I agree with your sentiment and was going to chime in, because of our current location it might be more helpful to say this:

Muffin you are a…a…a…a… ah god I can’t do it.

Classy move, really cool.

Let us not judge too hardly the Human who submits to the will of the Cat, shall we? To be blunt, the cat looks happy and healthy because her body got rid of a pregnancy gone wrong. We are sentient beings with emotional and intellectual attachments to developing babies…and if one of us miscarries, it is a devastating thing but our bodies did it for a reason and I suspect it is rare to miscarry and then be very much worse off than you were before.

The cat is fine because a bad pregnancy is over. Glad she’s being fixed, though.

Very good news! She’ll be much happier without having to worry about… well… er… kitty wrestling? And you’ll be much happier without worrying about a new litter twice, three times a year.

She’s home from the vet now, and wobbling about as the anesthetic hasn’t completely worn off. She had no idea of who I was when I picked her up at the vet’s. She just stared at me blankly and didn’t make a sound the whole way home. I let her out of the cat carrier and she promptly staggered out and began bumping into things. Poor thing has a definate list to starboard and can’t figure out what to do about it. I’m sure she’ll pay me back for laughing at her so hard by crapping in my shoes or something when I least expect it.

Or by wetting the bed.
Our Peepers was so out of it when we brought her home she peed herself and soaked the bed. :frowning:
Scared us pretty bad, but she was fine. Pretty pissed about the bath afterwards though.

When we brought Buffy and Gypsy home after getting fixed, Gypsy let us carry her upstairs, where she curled up in her little bed and went right to sleep.

Buffy, on the other hand, followed me downstairs, and kept crying, wanting constant attention. My mother and I had to eat dinner in shifts, because she just couldn’t stand to be alone.

Hey-just thought of something-did they give you pain meds for her? When we got Maggie fixed, they did.

Psst, Guin. When you’re separating thoughts, use a double dash --. Otherwise it looks like your thoughts are hyphenated.

People are so funny. The middle-class assumption of the ability to arrange and pay for a spay operation mystifies me. Trying to come up with 100-plus extra dollars and possibly a day off work is nearly impossible for some, but those whom have never been in that situation apparently don’t get it. I’m sure Tucker knows he “should” have his pet fixed but that isn’t enough to make it happen. We’re not all independently wealthy, people.

Nope. The vet that did Squeaker is the same one that did her mother and they didn’t give me any then, either. Whatever he does, they don’t seem to need any pain meds, because as soon as they shake off the effects of the anesthetic, they start gamboling about as if there was nothing wrong with them.

People who probably shouldn’t take on a cat or dog as a pet. Being a responsible owner is more than just providing food and water— there’s also the cost of neutering/spaying and the yearly exams/vaccinations.

Don’t have the time or money? Get a goldfish. Or (since you’ve raised the specter of middle-class elitism), might I suggest a nice pet rat? They also make good eating if times get really tough.

I have to go with Vinyl Turnip here. If you can’t afford a spay/neuter, then you very possibly won’t be able to afford other basic vet care like vaccinations. When you take the animal into your home, name it and start calling it your pet, you assume responsibility for it.

And it doesn’t sound like she’s such a great mother either.

Great move on your part. Congratulations.

If Squeaker later decides she wants to become a mother, you can always adopt.

I should hope not! However, I think Tuckerfan is probably a decent father.

Nah, you just need to space between the words and the hyphens - like this.

Or that!

You could also experiment with this OR that.

By the way, in the mornings when I am usually wide awake, I love to take a walk through the gardens and down by the lake, where I often see a duck and a drake, and I wonder as I walk by just what they’d say if they could speak, although I know that’s an absurd thought.
