Im not a Conservative nut job (well, after you read this you may say I am a nut job, but not a Conservative one), and I voted for Obama in 2012. But this makes me raise an eyebrow:
OK, I know the guy is an elderly man, but within the span of 3 years, TWICE, the Nevada (aka Las Vegas, Casinos, mobsters, gambling you get my drift) lawmaker has emerged in public TWICE with eye injuries combined with either a broken arm or broken ribs, both claiming to be “exercise accidents”; the first time “falling down while jogging” and the second time because his exercise machine “broke” while working out . . . now this is rich . . . in the bathroom.
Something is not adding up here. I suspect someone is beating the shit out of our Senate Minority Leader, and I want to know whats going on.
Come on, do I have the right to at least be LITTLE suspicious here??? :dubious:
Well, it’s said that the Dick Smothers character in the movie Casino was based on Harry Reid. Has anyone checked on Joe Pesci’s whereabouts at the time of the “accident”?
Old people fall. I’m 56 and on medication for hypertension along with aspirin and clopridigel for heart stuff. If I stand up too quickly I get dizzy. Throw in some alcohol and it could be worse.
The nurse at my doctor’s office routinely asks if I’ve had any falls (I always say no), so I guess it’s a thing.
Last time I heard it was Nancy Pelosi in an cross division bout (First Rule of Congressional Fight Club - leak the secrets). This time it’s still unclear but there were rumors of Bob Dole coming out of retirement for an exhibition.
That actually was my first thought. But it’s also possible that he’s pushing himself too hard and failing to realistically accept the limitations of age.
In the case of Harry Reid, the longest-tenured Mormon in Congress, the discovery that he had been “throwing in some alcohol” would be almost as sensational as him getting beaten up by mobsters.
Harry Reid once had to be physically pried off a mobster who’d offered him a bribe, so it might be more likely Reid was administering beatings to mobsters than vice-versa.
But seriously, a 75 year old falling with broken bones twice in three years isn’t particularly unlikely. I suspect the explanation is exactly what he said it was.
If a 32-year-old athlete can sustain serious injury falling off a treadmill, it’s not too surprising Harry Reid can as well (although I haven’t seen evidence what the mysterious “exercise equipment” was in Reid’s case).
Still, the OP raises a good point about possible mob activity. Have the Obamas hired an enforcer to keep top Democrats in line? And what about the mysterious tooth injuries suffered by Tiger Woods? Does anyone really believe he got bonked by a photographer’s camera?*
*Judging from his bad luck with women, I suspect another scenario. :dubious:
