I think he’s fine. I noticed recently that a Le Guin novel was named after him, so he’s obviously got a high profile in the literary community.
I also have these real life moments when I’m reminded of the Dope. I remember one early morning texting with my Doper friend The Butterfly’s Ghost, making a blunder and posting needs coffee, and she immediately answered “That’s a Doper’s name!” :D.
