Oh-oh-dih-oh! Well, I have a very good friend who is a musician. He has a new musical project, and it is promissing. I will be actually making the visual identity for the band. And my friend wants me now to help more. Finding more places to play, etc etc etc. Is that a good idea? I am a good speaker, I know how to present his work and I think I could get interesting deals. But I have never done thi sin my life. I could do with some money - I would be more than glad to help my friend’s band grow, but also to pocket some money. Tips? Ideas? Advice? PLEASE? :C
Managin’ a pop group’s no job for a man.
Srsly, it’s a lot of work but trust me, it can be very rewarding financially and it can also be more fun than you prolly think it’s possible to have. But it’s also gonna be a lotta work for little reward until you get to that point. Always remember that even if things with this band don’t work out, there is an entire industry that needs people to do what you’re thinking about doing. This band may fold, but another one will need a manager too. It’s a skill set, like anything else.
When I was in your shoes, I took the chance I was given and ran with it. It was fun even if the band broke up a year later and I don’t regret any of the time and effort I put into it.
