I believe this is the original

and then there is this other version that I love which was also the first time I heard the song (Thanks Mike!, oh yeah and that is various members of The Damned on stage as well.)

And probably my favorite version

I don’t know what it is exactly about this song I just can’t stop listening to it. I know its not the subject matter since I don’t swing that way. Still a great song, whichever version it is.

The Damned did a cover of that. Straight cred with the indie crowd.

Isn’t that the same crowd who brought us a multitude of horrible pretentious bands and even worse fashion in the last few years ? I don’t think their credit is worth much anymore.

Anyhoo, yeah it’s a fun song. KEXP plays the Plastic Bertrand version every so often–come to think of it, I’m not sure I ever actually heard the original version before clicking the link in the OP.
