I went to a book club meeting at a cafe tonight about 20 minutes from here. Never been there before. When I got home I couldn’t find my Kindle. I think I left it there. I didn’t realize this until after they were closed. Now I’m kind of freaking out. I will call tomorrow and hopefully they have it. I hope nobody stole it.
I need my Kindle! How will I fall asleep without it!? I can’t even read a regular book as they’re all boxed up since our house doesn’t have enough room for bookcases
That’s a real tragedy. I was going to spend the evening sending food and antiretroviral drugs to starving African children dying of AIDS, but then I heard about this.
I hope you get it back. But you might want to deactivate it through your Amazon account, just in case someone took it and tries to buy books through your account. I’m pretty sure you can re-activate it later if it’s found, without losing any purchased books.
I have a friend who is always telling me I need to get a Kindle - or something like it. This is exactly why I haven’t - I am horrible about leaving stuff places. (I have a half dozen cheap reading glasses all around the house, because I lose them so often.) If I leave a book, I’ve only lost a little - but I fear I would leave my kindle and lose quite a bit.
Speaking of losing stuff, I brought gloves to work this morning for the first time this fall. I only have one remaining in my coat pocket, and I haven’t even worn them yet.
I still have the K1 and read it several hours a day. It is particularly great while waiting in doctors’ offices, airports or for when my wife is shopping. In more than two years I have yet to lose it, but the first thing I did was paste a piece of cardboard with my name and phone number inside the cover.
