Yes, it just made me cry. Four separate times, no less. For no apparant reason; when Simba is presented at Pride Rock, when Mufasa dies in the gorge, when Simba comes back to pride rock and the lionesses all roar in support of him, and when Simba roars at the top of Pride Rock.
Jesus, it must be PMS, it has to be, because this is just too much.
The Lion King for god’s sake. I didn’t just shed a couple tears, I started bawling. This has never happened to me before, and I pray it never happens again.
I’m usually on the pill so usually no PMS. insert singing angels But the other month I forgot to get more so I got to re-experience the joys of womanhood. Know that commercial for disposable cameras where everyone builds the house and then at the end the family shows up and see all the pictures and the mom looks at the dad and they give each other that look?
SOB!!
Not fun. Judging from my PMS experiences and my mom’s description of her emotional state during her pregnancies…I’m gonna be a wreck when I get pregnant.
It was the Hallmark card ads that always got to me, they just set the tears to welling in my eyes. Being on the pill helps, but every once in a while, there’s just no stopping it. I don’t care what kind of movie I’m watching–I grab some extra napkins just in case–I cried at The Fellowship of the Rings–every time I saw it!
I’m on the pill too, haven’t had sex in 2 months either so it’s not anything like that…but yeah, just got my period so that’s fun. But crying at everything is certainly not one of the perks.

I have not menstruated in over 3 years. God, I love Depo-Provera.
Anyway, why wouldn’t you cry at The Lion King, even if you weren’t PMSing? It’s a sad and moving story, for a Disney movie, anyway. Poor little lion-guy, losing his dad and going into exile, and having all sorts of troubles. I was actually really surprised when I first saw the movie in theatres, because I just couldn’t believe that a main character, one of the good guys no less, gets killed. It just seemed so un-Disney. But I still cry when I watch it, though.
