Ibn Warraq, I’ve been reading the whole exchange between you and Deeg and I’m skeptical of the way you’re framing Deeg’s point.
Yes, you’re using Quotes. Yes, I have Deeg’s posts in front of me to read for myself. Still, how do I know the Mods haven’t enabled your account to allow you to edit other member’s posts? Or, even without the mods enabling you, you could be some kind of master hacker and you’ve managed to edit Deeg’s posts that way. Even easier, you may have gotten Deeg’s password and you’re making those posts yourself.
I’ve done a Google search and all results for Deeg’s quotes and yours just come back to this Thread.
Until I hear an audio recording of Deeg making those arguments, I will have to assume you’re making it all up.
Maybe if it actually was a fairly explosive comment it might get more attention. But as you can see in this very thread, Ron Paul supporters don’t give a shit even when they accept the quote as true.
Name some of them. Name some of these semi-reputable sites that say that Obama is not a US citizen. I really want to see these sites, sites that you consider to have a reputation on par with Salon, that say that Obama is not a US citizen.
First off, the story is from 2007 and it’s old news. That’s the main reason you’re not hearing much about it. The newsletter thing came up in the 2008 campaign too, and it’s not getting that much attention this time around either. It’s not a story that comes from one of Paul’s rivals. It’s a comment Paul himself made to a reporter. Salon printed the story, Paul’s people didn’t challenge it. You’re not going to see any other corroboration.
Even though he’ll get my vote, I’ve never thought he had a legitimate shot to win. The message is growing and will continue on after the elections, and, that’s good enough for me at this time. You can already see it having effects (Obama today saying he wants to streamline gov’t agencies to reduce government spending).
It also gives states authority to not give FFC to another states recognition of SSM;
§ 1738C. Certain acts, records, and proceedings and the effect thereof
No State, territory, or possession of the United States, or Indian tribe, shall be required to give effect to any public act, record, or judicial proceeding of any other State, territory, possession, or tribe respecting a relationship between persons of the same sex that is treated as a marriage under the laws of such other State, territory, possession, or tribe, or a right or claim arising from such relationship.
The FFC clause gives Congress the right to decide what acts and records must be recognized by other states, DOMA is based on FFC.
…Full faith and credit shall be given in each state to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state. And the Congress may by general laws prescribe the manner in which such acts, records, and proceedings shall be proved, and the effect thereof…
On the basis of DOMA and as the US SC has already ruled same SSM’s do not violate the federal constitution, states rule that under thier own Constitution’s or by Amendment’s, they will not recognize SSM’s.
I don’t think this is true. I think it’s more like (a) he doesn’t have that politician filter to give foggy answers to controversial questions and/or (b) he doesn’t really care to give them.
There’s no doubt that Paul has the most motivated base out there (all I see in rural New York are Paul signs and banners, many handmade, which was exactly how it was in 2008 until Obama was nominated). He would also be the easiest nominee for Obama to craft a strategy against. His fans forget that his views are not only far from the middle of the road on many topics, but are really easy to characterize (or mischaracterize, if you prefer) in terms that will frighten people.
Ron Paul is clearly ahead but the corporate media are ignoring him and the electoral fraud that is/has been perpetrated against him is holding him back. If he does get to the Whitehouse those who think that they run the show will most certainly attempt to assassinate him, they have too much to lose if he gets in power. All that said, I don’t think the Cabal will still be around. Massive arrests of the criminals within the banking & corporate world are imminent, the whole corrupt game is being brought down. If Pentagon insiders & whistle blowers are speaking the truth about the huge majority within the US military that wants to fix the tattered constitutional republic we’ll see a new USA and World. Let’s hope they are. Who knows maybe Paul will be chosen as temporary leader until they place their house back in order and honest elections are held.
I can just see the lizard people assassins jumping out of their UN-owned black helicopters to murder President Paul and take over our national parks in order to advance their plan of implementing sharia law in Yellowstone. This is what Lyndon LaRouche has been warning us about for decades, and it is practically inevitable. Wake up, sheeple!
Those on both political extremes are always at least half-rooting for some apocalyptic scenario or other, as it’s perhaps the only way their wacky ideas will ever get implemented.
My guess is that the huge majority inside the US military would like their paychecks to keep coming, mostly.
More likely the kind of supporter at whom Paul is constantly biting back an impulse to scream, “Stop helping me!” Like Barry Goldwater and the John Birchers.
