But ask the average person to name a cartoon voiceover artist, and 95 times out of 100 that person will say “Mel Blanc.”
My favorite tribute (to just about anybody, for that matter) was the ‘Speechless’ one for mr. Blanc.
I almost got one of the limited editions of the original version (just a plain white background, no stage) - I was in a Warner Brothers store in Ft. Lauderdale in '93 right when it was released. I saw it, and I swear if I wasn’t a newlywed and had all the attendant costs, it would be hanging on my wall right now…
