I thought this was funny so I took a picture...

This is from the library at my university:

Is it just me, or is that sign placement giggle-inducing?

It’s just you.

I would have laughed at the “Government Documents” sign alone. It looks so very stern and foreboding, just like actual government documents.

I’m really… kind of… confused.

Yeah, I don’t get what’s so funny. Is it because it almost…sort of…kinda looks like the government documents are located in the bathroom?

Are you sure you’re getting enough fresh air wherever you are?

No seeing the funny.

I have no idea what that picture is meant to be of.

Therefore, no.

From the placement, it looks like the government documents are located in the crapper. It could be worse, back when I was in college, I walked into the men’s room in the campus library and found a bunch of books on the lounge chair in there. Glancing at them, I couldn’t figure out what they had in common or why they were in the men’s room. I mean, they were art books and books on child birth. Flipping through them, I noticed that they had lots of photographs. Slowly it dawned on me that the reason they were in there was because that they all had photographs of exposed female genitalia in them. Then, I realized why someone had brought them into the men’s room. I quickly dropped them, ran over to the sink and furiously washed my hands.

Now THAT’S funny

(per the OP: nary a chuckle sorry)

What’s the second arrow on the wall pointing to? Light switches?

Ok I guess from jimm’s comment that not everyone can see what is in the photo:

It is a doorway leading to a hall… the sign labeling the hall reads “Government Documents”… the hall is a T-intersection and is labeled with signs pointing to the mens’ room on the left, ladies’ room on the right. From that angle it doesn’t appear the hall goes anywhere else, but I assume that if you go to the right, there is more than just the ladies’ room… but the way it’s laid out, it really just looks like the hallway to the toilets. Where the Government Documents are.

One of the things we lost, when the American Museum of Natural History in New York City decided to raze the old Hayden Planetarium and replace it with that ultra-modern glassed-in spherical thing were the old prominent signs that read:

** To Solar System and Restrooms**.

I’m sorry I can’t share this with everybody, but if you have Facebook (or care to sign up) I have plenty of pictures like this from my trip to England last March:

I’m logged into facebook, but can’t get to that album.

Whoops! Looks like I misunderstood the stupid privacy functions. If anybody wants to see 'em, just send me a PM!

It depends, was there a “Beware of the Leopard” sign nearby? :stuck_out_tongue:

Was anyone else expecting to see kitty cats?
