I usually take 30mg of Paxil in the morning for my anxiety. No big deal, it helps take the edge off of my disorder. This morning, however, I was running late for a few appointments that I had. In my haste, I accidentally downed a Trazodone tablet, which I take for my insomnia. So I’m very sleepy today.
Oh no! You should go home today and snooze.
so i guess a martini lunch is out of the question?
on a serious note, be careful driving
I’ll be okay. I’m not driving anywhere in the near future. But I’m working on writing (I try to be very ritualistic about it, and try to work about eight hours a day on material. Like an actual workday), so I can’t go to sleep yet. I’ll take a nap around 6 or so tonight. In the meantime, there’s always Mountain Dew®
So the mighty Superdude[sup]tm[/sup] has become Supersnooze!!! My evil plan is working!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! With his writing skills out of my way, Board Domination is mine. All mine!!! <evil cackle>
[sub]Seriously, bummer on switching the tablets, 'dude. I got my DayQuil and NyQuil mixed up once. Hope your schedule gets back to normal soon. And really, I’m not evil. I just act that way.[/sub]
I forgot to take mine this morning, so I had to go back home and take it. Fortunately it didn’t make me late. But if I forget my Serzone, I get dizzy!!!
Oh, I know what you mean. I think I took my Depakote (seizure meds) but I can’t be sure. Really, you would think that having to take them twice a day and doing that for six years that I would remember…but noooo. My brain doesn’t work properly. It just…::bzzzzzzzzzzzzz::
::click:: [answering machine voice]Sorry, my brain just died. If it is an emergency, please hang up and try again.[/answering machine voice]
dlgirl…seizures? Epileptic, or is their some other cause?
dlgirl…seizures? Epileptic, or is there some other cause?
Um…SD, you really want to know that badly?
dlgirl, sure do. If you don’t want to go into it here, feel free to email me.
No, SD, that’s alright. I was just commenting on the fact that you double-posted.
They’re epileptic. I started having the seizures when I was 12 and was never told what was causing them. No one can be sure what causes them. It may be genetic, but most likely it isn’t. I don’t know. My family med history is nada. I am adopted…so, you know.
Make that more like nine years. See? My brain doesn’t function properly.
dlgirl, I didn’t know you were adopted. I can see where that would confuse the gentic history regarding something like that. I’ve had tests for temporal lobe epilepsy, but they’ve always come back negative. A few times in my life I’ve almost blacked out for no apparent reason. That started the ball rolling on what they’ve decided now is nothing more than “vaso-vagal” episodes. Basically, the Vega nerve that controls heartbeat, respiration, and all kinds of other autonomic reflexes just craps out on me every once in a while. Fun, huh?
That can be dangerous. My cousin has that problem (Vagas nerve (sp?) ), passed out in the shower and fell thru the sliding doors. (They weren’t tempered)Cut up pretty bad, if his wife wasn’t home he could’ve bled to death.
Tell me about it. So far, it’s only happened at home, and only a handful of times. Never happened (so far) while driving, or on stage, or anything like that. But it always could. I never know.
Sheesh…I’ve been taking Tegretol (anti-epileptic), for a good 18 years and I STILL can’t remember if I took them or not most of the time…
It happens mainly when I don’t have a daily routine. Like I got laid off in May, and I couldn’t remember to take them to save my life(literally). At the end of May, I ended up with like 20 extra pills!
Daily meds suck. It’s like the biggest ball and chain in the world.
Sam
Oh, GaWd! I know! During the summer my daily med routine is thrown so far off that I can bet you by the end of the summer I will have a seizure. That is exactly what happened this last summer and it was the worst seizure that I have had so far.
Does anyone else who takes seizure meds have muscle problems? Maybe I should tell my doc about my shakiness. It is uncontrollable most of the time…and then my muscles just lock up on me. Quite difficult to move, especially when I’m driving (whenever that is). I feel so stupid…like I am dysfunctional. I have met only one other person who said that this has happened to someone they know while on this medication. I don’t think it is a good side effect, if that is what it is.
Oh, and I went to the neurologist the first time I had a seizure, they took brain wave printouts and everything. Nothing showed up. I wasn’t on the meds then. So, now my brain is even more out of whack. (Oh, yeah. And I was closer to the number of years I have been taking Dep. the first time. I’ve been taking them since I was 14.)
[sub]So, yeah…that’s stuff that no one cares about. And I really shouldn’t be using computers often, but I can’t help it! I’m addicted! Hee, hee… :P[/sub]
I’ve never been on Depakote, but my Tegretol will make me a bit shakey if I’m stressed or tired. If your muscle trouble is related to your Neuro issues, then, yes, tell your doc.
My EEG last year came out the best it’s ever been, and I’ve finally gotten my license, so things are just getting better (fingers crossed).
And why shouldn’t you be on the computer often? Won’t affect your epilepsy…
Sam
That’s why I have my meds (Wellbutrin, if anyone wants to know or cares) in one of those little daily pill boxes, because I can never remember if I took it. I keep it right on my keyboard, since this is where I spend so much of my time. Of course, I still forgot to take one of the doses Sunday and Monday, but hey, it’s progress.
