I used to be a Happy Wanderer...

And as a member of that auspicious polka band, I will now reveal my true identity, Stan Shmenge.

I tried multiple times to get my old identity back, to no avail from the admins, so I have created a new ID here, as it seems like “Happy Wanderer” is not something I can recover, so I am starting this new ID. This is not a puppet. Happy Wanderer is for all intents and purposes dead, and as Stan Shmenge I freely inherit any bad karma that was previously associated with the User ID “Happy Wanderer”, although I doubt there is much of that.

If I have done a bad thing, let me know, admins, but I really miss posting here!

Signed,

Stan Shmenge, AKA, Happy Wanderer.

Huh. All my life I thought the phrase was ‘for all intensive purposes’. :smack:

See! I am fighting ignorance in my first post back here!

I thought you were going to tell us you’ve decided to stop being a happy wanderer, and become a Morose Meanderer instead.

A wan, anna too…

That polka band?

Hey Stan/Happy, I’ll alert the admins and we’ll get your accounts merged.

That would be cool. My first choice was Stan, but someone had it back in the day, so I took Happy Wanderer.

I’ll take either, hope you can link the old HW posts, but no problem if you cant.

Should I keep logging in as Stan?

I’ll check back in this thread for instructions!

Thanks, mods

I sent you an email about it. If you’d like to be Stan Shmenge permanently we’ll just merge Happy in there. If you’d rather reactive your old account, someone will reset the password. The accounts will get merged either way - it’s always one per person.

Well, I haven’t received the e-mail. Since I am able to log in as Stan Shmenge, why not merge me into that one. It was my first choice back in the day, and as Stan, I will alway be a Happy Wanderer!

If you need my e-mail to do this, let me know so I can send it to you, admin!

Sent you private e-mail.

Long time no see Stan. How is brother Yosh?

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen ‘for all intensive purposes’ used in reports; you are absolutely not alone in using it.

Sadly, he has passed on, but his funerial ashes are buried back home in Leutonia, just as tradition requires. And every shmersh day, we make Sardine Pierogies, and parade them around the traditional Christmas splotzka. In this way we honor the spirits of our grandfather’s pickling spices. Everybody wins!

I hope this answers your question and have a Happy Holiday!

Well, you are both wrong. Even in Leutonia.

Thanks LouisB.
I have to say I’ve never actually used the phrase myself, fortunately. And come to think of it, I heard it at the hospital I was working at a couple times. Now it’s kind of funny. Maybe there it IS for ‘intensive’ purposes.

Since Stan Shmenge has started this new thread about his return, I’m going to lock this one.
