Just a note to let everyone know that I’ve changed my username. I still adore pugs, naturally, but I put my last old pugger down more than a year ago. I found posters here were naturally assuming I still had puglets in my home, so I thought it wise to change my name.
And because I seem to owe any success in my life more to dumb luck than anything else, I felt “teela brown” was a good handle.
Hey teela, how’d your heartburn story turn out?? Never went back for an update.
backs nervously out of the thread, afraid of seeming to do or say anything that could be construed as unlucky for teela
Good memory, Duke of Rat!
Prilosec has worked wonders for me. I’ve forgotten I even have a stomach, not that I would invite bad luck (hah!) by going back to coffee and orange juice. The doc told me that I had the green light to keep taking it for sixty days. Blessed, blessed relief!
Well, coffee prolly ain’t the best thing to drink, but I’d have to try OJ (neither bother me, YMMV).
And I remember you… I have a soft spot in my heart for lovers of little companion dogs. My username (I’ve never mentioned this) is part of the longer registered name of my Rat Terrier. The AKC doesn’t recognize Rat Terriers, but they have their own organization.
Do you plan to stay pugless or maybe become one of them foster homes for a Pug Rescue group?
We plan to stay pugless. I love them dearly, but taking care of dogs is getting a bit much for me on top of my job and commute. In addition, the vet bills were killing us. And I read with horror the dog poisoning thread in the Pit, because this is one of my fears. We live on a corner lot, have shithead neighbors, and we’d either have to coop the dogs up in the garage during the day or expose them to possible harm in the backyard. I don’t want to have to worry about that anymore.
You wouldn’t cause that problem. The question would be, what catastrophe happening to you might be construed as lucky for teela?
So, as directed under the new username change re-initation rules, you get to pick: Goat, Emu or Gnu?
Pugs are indoor dogs. They aren’t supposed to be left in a backyard anyway. Shouldn’t they be left in the house? Why the garage instead? Garages usually get hot and could quickly lead to heat stroke.
Yep, I know. I didn’t want to do that, nor could I leave them in the house, either, for 9+ hours a day without the house becoming a giant pug litter box. Hence my decision.
Indeed.
[teela]Gosh, how lucky for me that Malacandra happened to get his head cut off right there and then. Rough on him, but it taught me a valuable lesson in empathy just when I needed one. boo-hoo[/teela]
