I voted against Donald J. Trump yesterday

Seriously, if you’ve voted, you’ve done your part. How many Americans don’t even bother voting?
Feeling obligated to open your wallet is a sin that the American election campaign system is committing.

You’re killing it. Great job.

The perspective in the title of this thread is something I share to an extent. I was flattered to have some nominal choice in candidates. In the spirit of the thread, I voted accordingly. Of course I would have blown my nose with Trump as 2000’s Reform Candidate and did so during the other three presidential campaign cycles as well.

Vote early, and often.

Ballots inked in, sealed up, and will be taken to the drop box at City Hall in a couple of hours.

Remember, folks, don’t use a felt tip or sharpie-style pen to do your inking. It might soak through to the other side of the paper and ruin your ballot. Use a ball point pen.

I think it’s better to say that you should follow whatever instructions the state or local registrar provides; they may, in fact, prefer a Sharpie be used.

I voted by email about two weeks ago, blue all the way down the ballot. I’m so looking forward to never hearing about Trump ever again.

I voted against Trump on Friday. But my state is going to go for Harris, so it wasn’t all that satisfying.

Let’s talk about something important, for a change.

Was there a remake of Schindler’s List that I missed? Or did you mix up comedic actor Judge Reinhold with Liam Neeson, who played Schindler in Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film?

And how I am the first Doper to call this out, after nearly 30 posts?

He obviously wasn’t in the movie. He was in the Seinfeld episode where the movie was referenced.

I’m willing to see headlines about upcoming convictions in DC, Geogia, and maybe, someday, Florida.

Hmm, i may not be allowed to state my honest feelings here. But I’m anxious he’s going to be our next president.

Yes, a Seinfeld reference. I assume everyone has memorized every Seinfeld script ever written. Reinhold was hilarious.

Well done!

More than 328,000 ballots were cast Tuesday, Gabe Sterling of the Georgia secretary of state’s office said on X. “So with the record breaking 1st day of early voting and accepted absentees we have had over 328,000 total votes cast so far,” he said.

The previous first day record was 136,000 in 2020, Sterling said.

This is a good sign, as left-leaning voters tend to vote early. And large voter turnouts tend to favor the left-leaning candidates, as well.

I’m going to amble over to my voting place tomorrow. I’ve written letters to my fellow North Carolinians and I hope lots and lots of them join me in the next couple weeks.

Same here, but there are also a lot of schmuckos down ballot that need to be voted out. Probably not much chance of that here in republican territory but I will keep on trying as long as I live in a-holeville.

Not sure how to interpret this, but I did offer my local Democratic party to drive people to and from the pols, and the woman whose machine I left my message on hasn’t gotten back to me.

Optimistically, this means she doesn’t need anyone to drive people to the polls, which would signify that the Dems have this election sewn up.

But pessimistically, it means this poor woman is hustling her ass off trying to scare up loose votes and can’t be bothered to return my call which will result in only a few more Democratic votes.

I voted early here in Ohio, on the 8th.
I usually throw my vote away by voting Libertarian but told my friend who was dying that in tribute to him, I would vote Dem.
I did.

I voted last week. I’m now starting to Badger (Please, no-one tell The Crew!) two family members (both in Swing states) who said they aren’t voting to get out and do it. I can’t believe I have to do that, but there we are.

One of these guys has 2 young daughters and no doubt many future Girlfriends. I’m using that angle on him.
