I’ll vote for Hillary if she’s the Democrat candidate. But hell, the Dems could nominate the Abominable Snowman, and I’d vote for him if his opponent is a Republican.
Too late for that… the Abominable Snowman is running as the Tea Party candidate in the Alaska Senatorial Primary.
I’m with you 1000% on THAT count. Couldn’t agree with you more.
Nate Silver picks apart polls on Hillary’s qualifications.
The TL:DR version is: your view of whether a candidate is “qualified” to be president is heavily linked to how much you like them and/or their party. If you lean Democratic, you’ll see her as qualified. If you don’t, you won’t.
Yeah, I don’t like that. I love Rand Paul. I do not think he’s as yet qualified to be President. I like Marco Rubio. He is also unqualified. I do not like Rick Perry. Rick Perry is qualified. I also believe Hillary Clinton is well qualified, more qualified than anyone in either party who is likely to compete against her(unless Bill Richardson runs, he’s probably the best qualified man in any party to be President).
Politicians that I like that are unqualified to be president: Alan Grayson (too confrontational), Julian Castro (not enough experience), Bernie Sanders (not formally affiliated with the Democratic Party)
Politicians that I don’t like who are qualified to be president: John Boehner, John McCain, Orrin Hatch.
Sure, we are more likely to think someone is more qualified if we like him/her, but most of us are realistic enough to not be completely partisan about it.
I’m not sure Clinton is particularly distinguishable on that count. Bill pretty much created the Third Way, business-friendly Democrat archetype.
