I just got back from a bike ride and I am really craving a Pink Thing. They used to sell those and Six Flags theme parks (still might). I haven’t even thought about them for ages, but for some reason I can almost taste one right now. Unfortunately I haven’t seen those in the stores for years, but right now I can’t think of anything that would be sweeter.
You’ve reminded me of Lynn, a girl I went to college with. I was going to Six Flags for the first time, and she said, “Bring me back a Pink Thing.” I had no idea what she was talking about, but when I got to Six Flags and found out, I had to laugh.
Lynn was really cool, and I haven’t thought about her for awhile. Wherever you are, Lynn, I hope your life is full of Pink Things.
Damn you, Zap_Rowsdower. Now I want a Pink Thing too. I haven’t been to Six Flags in ages, simply ages, and as far as I know, that’s the only place they’re sold.
I am probably not the same Lynn that lainaf is thinking of. I don’t think that I ever requested a Pink Thing from a college buddy.
Whoops…when I read “pink thing” and “Six Flags”, I was assuming it was gonna be one of those glowing necklaces. M’bad.
Hey kids! It’s time for the **Professor Hal’s ** “Things That You Would Think Would Kill You, But Actually Won’t” segment!
The next time you get one of those glowing necklaces, read the label. “Non-Toxic”?! Woohoo! That’ right – you can crack that sucker open and suck out the glowing marrow. You’ll have the pinkest glowing smile on the block! And for even more fun, get a green one. Neon loogies! Wheeeeee!
I remember Skaggs Alpha Beta (I think) used to have them. I distinctly going to the one on Hulen in Fort Worth as a kid and getting them there many moons ago.
I worked at Six Flags Over Texas years ago (La Salle’s Adventure!) and in my time there I picked up more used Pink Thing sticks than any other single type of trash. Blue plastic with little unidentifiable cartoon-like characters on them. It’s a sad little legacy that I can describe the sticks they were on but I can’t remember what they tasted like. They did make a strangely long-lasting pink stains on the asphalt, though.
