When I was 11 I wanted to own a TV station so I used to write to TV stations and asked them how I could go about owning one.
The stations would send me back nice letters and often a key chain or hat or t-shirt with their logos on it.
Of course no one does that now (that was over 25 years ago - How did I get that old)
How can I get some free stuff? I don’t care what it is I just want some free stuff. Be it laundry detergent. A free candy bar, a free garbage bag etc…

Write letters to companies, effusive in your praise of their product/service.
Alternatively, write letters to companies scalding in your condemnation of their product/service.

Get a copy of Gobs and Gobs of Free Stuff, or go here and check out some of his other titles. Most of them can be found at your local library, so you don’t actually have to buy them.
