I don’t know why GuyNBlueJeans was suspended. The reasons given were just unclear enough that racism per se might or might not be the cause. So, this isn’t about him in particular, but about racists in general.
I want the fucking bastards where I can see them. One of the unforseen consequences of PC “hate speech” bullshit is that racists just become more subtle and more sublime with their hatred. I’m not talking about physical violence or even speech that calls for physical violence. I’m talking about just plain words. Sounds. Noises. Phonemes. Things that don’t call for breaking your bones but that piss you off all the same.
The great thing about message boards is that it’s just text. I’m glad the PTB prohibit threats of physical violence because they can be carried out IRL with enough information and wherewithall. But I want to be able to see stuff like this:
Okay, first of all, fuck you, GuyNBlueJeans! (You can respond when you come back.) One quality they surely had in common with you was their racsim. So the fact that you pegged them with that word is remarkably ironic. “Murderous” would have made more sense.
Now, for the rest of us: racism is alive and well in the world. Coming here to play tea party and pretend there’s no hatred is just asinine. I don’t want a starched, fake, oh-so-nice discussion about something hateful people have done of any race. And I don’t want bigots hiding behind sweetness.
I think the membership here will take care of racists with appropriate pile-ons and sharp-witted argument. But we can’t fucking do that if we don’t know who the fuck they are. I want racism front and center, where I can throw punches at it. I don’t want it hidden. I don’t want it suppressed. I’m perfectly capable of confronting and demolishing it.
There’s precedent for this. Gaudere once allowed an avowed racist to post in Great Debates after pleadings from the membership, so long as the person obeyed the rules. With that out of the way, we trounced the bitch, shredding her arguments to pieces with sound reason and compelling stats. Eventually, she disappeared and never returned.
Racists aren’t trolling when they call people “niggers”. They’re racists. They are expected to say shit like that. I think Biggirl, Cervaise, and other black board members can more than handle themselves. And those of us who count them among our peers will be right there by their sides to help. We don’t need a nanny to say that the playground is too dangerous and so we can’t play tag.
Fuck.
