My wife bought a ’02 Grand Jeep Cherokee. Was going to buy the Liberty. Even ordered the Liberty but changed her mind.

The Grand, only cost us another $500 (got a hell of a deal) or so. And it gets 20mpg. And it has a V8.

Very comfortable car, for both of us, she is short, I am tall. It has adjustable peddles.

We have talked about this a couple of times, and I think she would have had serious buyers remorse if she went with the Liberty. Come to think of it, so would I.

Does it have to be an SUV? If a small hatchback would fill your needs, you might consider the Suzuki Aerio SX, which comes in an AWD version. Very roomy inside. We own two (a sedan and a hatchback, both 5-speed manual transmission) and are very pleased.
